Doorways

When we actually let ourselves know what we truly want, we may feel ridiculous, scared, guilty. We may hear that voice inside of us say, Who do you think you are?

I’d been an Holistic Coach for a decade and a half when I started to feel an emptiness. A longing. I loved my Coaching work, and yet….it was becoming clear…I needed…Something else. Something more. Secretly, I dreamed about writing. And publishing! The very notion terrified me! And also kept calling me.

I pushed this longing down for over a year, but the prayer had been sent.

One cold, October morning, I woke up, sat down, and began writing. I wasn’t thinking, or trying. I was opening to what was inside me and just letting go. Smitten, I wrote 100 poems in 3 months and discovered a new, exhilarating connection to myself, the world and the creative process.  I had rediscovered a part of me. The desire was the doorway…..

Two decades later, I began painting in much the same way—a sudden burst—a wild experiment…Creative Joy!

Giving ourselves what we love, what nourishes and delights us is an act of both Trust & Self-Care.

An act that delcares: I’m Brave. I’m Badass. I’m on my side & I’m going to give myself what I truly desire, w/out explanation or apology.

What have you been waiting for that you’re now ready to claim?
