Make Everything Smaller

I’m still on an emotional roller coaster. You too?

I have hopeful days, productive days, followed by days of sadness, anger, WTF?

The best way to give myself a break right now is to make everything smaller.

Creating distance from stressful things makes them smaller. Expecting less from myself and others. Dividing challenges into tiny, less perfectionistic pieces. Giving myself permission to sleep in, start the day very s-l-o-w-l-y… Ignoring that bossy, Hurry Up! mind that likes to get me spinning, first thing.

Slow walks, Deep Breaths. Feel all the feels. Frequent naps. Dream of drenching rains in the west. Loving hearts. FaceTimes. No news. A good movie is medicine right now.

I tell myself daily: We can do whatever we want, as long as it’s not harmful to us or anyone else. Sometimes smash a coconut. A good cry. Chocolate. Pasta. My pup. And the wonderful women I work with.
